How much does it cost?
There is no registration fee and there is no minimum pledge, but on average, walkers raises $100. To thank you for your efforts, adults raising $125 and children (age 9 and younger) raising $25 receive the official Walk MS T-shirt: help support the mission of the National MS Society. Every dollar you raise will move us closer to a cure for MS!

How long is the Walk MS route?
Each Walk MS site has a 3-mile route, and some sites also offer a 1- or 7.5-mile option. Route maps are available at each location’s registration home page closer to the event date.

What if I become tired part way through the walk?
No problem. There are rest stops along all of the routes where you can request transportation to the Finish Line. Support vehicles also drive the routes and can assist walkers at any location.

Are the routes accessible to people who use wheelchairs or scooters?
Yes. All of the routes are accessible for participants in wheelchairs or scooters, as well as families with strollers or wagons.

Should I bring a water bottle?
Yes, please bring your own personal water bottle. There will be five-gallon jugs at the walk site that you can fill your water bottle from.

Do you need volunteers?
Yes! We need more than 700 volunteers to cover all Walk MS locations. Please see the volunteer page of this website for more details.

People have asked me for a receipt. What should I do?
For donations of $99 or less, you can download thank you receipts and personally distribute them to your supporters. All donations of $100 or more will receive acknowledgment from the Wisconsin Chapter. Note: if the $100 or more donation was made online, the acknowledgement will be sent in an e-mail. If the $100 or more donation was mailed to the Wisconsin Chapter, the donor will receive an acknowledgement through the post office. If you have questions about the donor acknowledgement process, please call the Wisconsin Chapter at 262-369-4400 or 800-242-3358.

Should I bring cash to the walk?
No. You are encouraged to write a check payable to the National MS Society-Wisconsin Chapter for the total amount of cash you have collected. You can mail your check in advance of the walk to the Wisconsin Chapter. Our mailing address is National MS Society - Wisconsin Chapter, 1120 James Drive, Suite A, Hartland, WI 53029. These pledges will be applied to your fundraising goal.

How do I go about forming a team?

ABOUT MY WALK MS PARTICIPANT CENTER

What is a Personal Page?
A Personal Page is an online promotional tool for your use when asking friends and family to join your team or sponsor you by making a donation. Once you sign up for an event online, by default, you will have a Personal Page created for you. You have the option of personalizing this page by going to your Walk Center. You will be able to customize images, text and the style/color layout of the page.

A Personal Page was automatically created for me. Do I have to edit this page?
You don't have to, but research has shown that a compelling Personal Page attracts and engages supporters making them more likely to donate or increase the amount they decide to give. You can customize your page by selecting the layout and style that works best for you. Add personal photos, select your favorite text style and change other elements. Your Personal Page can be your own creative expression of your commitment to the cause.

How do I change my personal fundraising goal?
Log in to your Walk Center. On the bottom right side of the Walk Center home page is the location to modify your personal fundraising goal. Enter your new goal and submit the changes.

How do I change my team name or team goal?
Only the team captain has the ability to change the team name or team goal. The team captain will need to log in to his/her walk center and click the "My Team Progress" button on the top right. Once on the Team Progress page, he or she can update the team name and goal.

How can I see who has donated to me?
Log in to the site using your username and password. Go to your Walk Center and click the "My Progress" tab; this will allow you to view your donor list and any amounts having been donated.

How can I see who is on my team?
Log in to the site using your username and password. Go to your Walk Center and click the "Team Progress" tab; this will allow you to view your team roster and the amounts raised by each team member.

What is a team message?
A motivational message you can send to team members. Go to your Walk Center and click the "Update Message to Team" button. This will allow you to make any necessary changes to your team message.

What is the difference between making my Personal Page private or public?
By default, a Personal Page is public, meaning your name will appear in the participant search list and anyone accessing the site will be able to support you. Setting your Personal Page to private means your name will not appear in the participant search list, and only people you personally invite will be able to support you.
