How do I sign up?

Signing up is easy! The quickest way is to register online.
However, you can also: Mail a registration form to 1120 James Drive Suite A, Hartland, WI  53029
Phone-in a registration by contacting the Wisconsin Chapter office at 262-369-4400 or toll free in Wisconsin 800-242-3358.

How much does it cost?
There is no registration fee and there is also no minimum pledge, but the average walker raises $140. Pledges are strongly recommended to help support the mission of the National MS Society. Every dollar you raise will move us closer to a cure for MS!

How long is the Walk MS route?
Each Walk MS site offers a 3-mile option and some sites also feature a 7.5 mile route. Route maps are available at each location’s registration home page.

What if I become tired part way through the walk?
No problem. There are rest stops along all of the routes where you can request transportation to the Finish Line. Support vehicles also drive the routes and can assist walkers at any location.

Are the routes accessible to people who use wheelchairs or scooters?
Yes. All of the routes are accessible for participants in wheelchairs or scooters, as well as families with strollers or wagons.

Do you need volunteers?
Yes! We need more than 700 volunteers. Please see the
Volunteer Page of this website for more details.

People have asked me for a receipt. What should I do?
For donations of $75 or less we have a packet of receipts that we can send you to give to your donors. Call us at 262-369-4400 or toll free in Wisconsin 800-252-3358 to request them. For donations over $75, as long as a name and address accompany the donation (such as on the donor's check), the donor will get a letter from the Wisconsin Chapter that will serve as a receipt. You can also download a receipt as part of the
fundraising kit available on this website.

Should I bring cash to the walk?
No. You are encouraged to write a check payable to the National MS Society-Wisconsin Chapter for the total amount of cash you have collected. You can mail your check in advance of the walk to the Wisconsin Chapter. Our mailing address is National MS Society - Wisconsin Chapter, 1120 James Drive, Hartland, WI 53029. You can also submit pledges online.

When and where do I turn in my pledges?
BEFORE THE WALK: Mail pledges to the Wisconsin Chapter office at 1120 James Drive Suite A, Hartland, WI 53029. AT THE WALK: Write out one check for the total pledges you have collected and place it in your pledge envelope along with any other checks you've collected that are made payable to the National MS Soceity. The pledge envelope is collected at registration. AFTER THE WALK: Write a single check for any pledges received after the walk and mail those to the Wisconsin Chapter. These pledges will be applied to your fundraising goal.

How do I go about forming a team?
It's easy. All you need is four people (walkers and/or volunteers) and a team name. Whoever registers the team first will be the designated team captain and will be able to create a team web page. Visit our
Team page to get started.

If I've already registered do I need to check-in the morning of the walk?
Yes, all walkers must check-in. At check-in, participants have the opportunity to turn in any additional funds, sign waivers and register (if necessary).

How do I get a Walk MS bandana?
It's easy. The Walk MS bandana is an early-bird incentive presented to participants who register BEFORE December 31, 2009. The bandanas are distributed at the walk site.

Does my son or daughter have to raise $100 to receive a Walk MS T-shirt?
No. Any child 9-years-old or under only needs to collect a minimum of $25 in pledges to receive a Walk MS 2010 T-shirt.

Where do I get my Walk MS prizes?
After the walk, each participant will be sent a prize form. Complete the form and mail it to the Chapter before the June 25, 2010 deadline. For more information about prizes, visit the prize center

What if it rains?
The walk goes on rain or shine. Bring rain gear and any other items you may to protect yourself from inclement weather.

Are pets allowed to accompany walkers along the route?
It depends on the specific walk location. Check the information page for the site you plan to attend.

ABOUT MY WALK MS PARTICIPANT CENTER

What is a Personal Page?
A Personal Page is an online promotional tool for your use when asking friends and family to join your team or sponsor you by making a donation. Once you sign up for an event online, by default, you will have a Personal Page created for you. You have the option of personalizing this page by going to your Walk Center. You will be able to customize images, text and the style/color layout of the page.

A Personal Page was automatically created for me. Do I have to edit this page?
While you do not have to edit this page, a compelling Personal Page attracts and engages supporters. You can customize your page by selecting the layout and style that works best for you. Add personal photos; select your favorite text style and other elements. Your Personal Page can be your own creative expression of your commitment to the cause.

How do I change my personal fundraising goal?
First, you will need to login to your Walk Center. On the bottom right side of the Walk Center home page is the location to modify your personal fundraising goal. Enter your new goal and submit the changes.

How do I change my team name or team goal?
Only the team captain has the ability to change the team name or team goal. The team captain will need to login to his/her walk center and click the "My Team Progress" button on the top right. On the Team Progress page, team captains will have the ability to update the team name and goal.

How can I see who has donated to me?

How can I see who is on my team?

What is the difference between making my Personal Page private or public?
By default, a Personal Page is public, meaning your name will appear in the participant search list, and anyone accessing the site will be able to support you. Setting your Personal Page to Private means your name will not appear in the participant search list, and only people you personally invite will be able to support you.
